1.       Hukilau Financial Model

The funding of the new Hukilau work-study scholarship program (analogous to I-WORK) for needy domestic students was discussed.


2.       TVA Rent Proposal

(Michael Tejada)


A proposal to increase I-WORK support of families in TVA housing was discussed. PC sent it back to financial aid for more research and information.


3.       Ecclesiastical Visits in BYU-Hawaii Hales



A policy for regulating ecclesiastical visits to Hales was considered and approved.

4.       Navajo Nation President and Vice President



They would like to visit the campus. PC agreed that this would be good.

5.       Questions Regarding “Institute Copy” Charge


PC decided to discontinue paper subscription to Church News due to cost and availability of online Church News


6.       Reorganization roll-out date?



Admissions has been moved to Academics from Student Development and Services. Question was asked about whether we are ready to go forward with this organization change. PC approved that the change could be made effective immediately.


7.       Search Committee for VP for Administration



John Bell will chair the search committee for the new VP for Administration. Plans were initiated for the search.


8.       Scheduling Coordinator Position Posting Request


Posting was approved.

9.       Review Cafeteria Site Plan Options

(Kirk Tyler, James Brown, EWC)


PC determined that our preference would be to build proposed new cafeteria next to the existing building rather than other sites that would require demolition of other existing buildings without replacement plans.
